David G. Greenhalgh, MD is Chief of Staff for Burn Surgery at the Shriners Children's Northern California, and Professor Emeritus, Department of Surgery, for the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. He received his MD in 1981 at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse New York, completed general surgery residency at the University of Vermont in 1986. He completed two research years and completed a burn fellowship at the University of Washington in 1989. He worked at Shriners Hospitals for Children Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati from 1989 until 1997 when he went to Northern California. He has research interests in the response to injury, resuscitation, sepsis and wound healing. In 2006-2007, Dr. Greenhalgh served as President of the American Burn Association and was President of the International Society for Burn Injuries in 2021-2022.
